Meet Lisa
Hi, I’m Lisa Boek and I’m the CEO and founder of Black Bow Sweets.
Growing up I was lucky to be surrounded by a family of wonderful cooks and bakers. Not surprisingly, we often gave our homemade confections as beautifully wrapped gifts: cookies, breads, brownies and yes, roasted nuts.
It was lots & lots of baking, but I learned so much and loved what we created together.
One homemade treat was requested more than any other—our candied pecans. Mom’s recipe was truly something special—a richness & depth of flavor that one couldn’t find elsewhere.
As I grew up and moved out on my own, I knew I wanted to continue our family baking tradition. Before I knew it, I was baking candied pecans year 'round for all kinds of occasions. And that’s how Black Bow Sweets was born.

Our Path To Higher Quality
The journey to producing the best quality nut creations started with our overriding commitment to always do things the right way.
We use premium ‘better-for-you’ ingredients including California grown nuts, cage free egg whites, sea salt, pure cane sugar, fresh cinnamon and other premium spices.
We slow roast in small batches at lower temperatures, which yields evenly coated and delicately crunchy gourmet products with the full nutty, sweet & subtly spiced flavors coming through.
We manufacture at our own Northern California facility under the strictest quality standards following our Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP program.

Lisa is a cancer survivor. She knows firsthand about the huge difference cancer-fighting organizations can make.
That’s why Black Bow Sweets proudly supports and makes ongoing donations to outstanding organizations such as: Imerman Angels, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals and the American Cancer Society.
We also believe in buying local. We source ingredients from local suppliers & farmers who grow their crops in nearby Central California.
